GENERAL
RULES
AGE. The age of an individual on Dec. 1, 2007 is maintained the entire year. Horses become
one year old on Jan. 1 following foaling
date.
AMATEUR class rider/handler must have USEF or WSH Amateur certification or apply prior to the class.
AWARD TO 1ST in each class, ribbon or place award for
2nd through 5th. Championship Classes: Ribbons 1st-6th place. The ribbons are
donations from the estate of Bob & Lavonne Berg. Recycled and updated, they are provided without cost to the show. The
Bergs, faithful members for over 30 years, loved and supported the Northeast Zone. They lived in Pullman, but made the 160-mile
round trip for Zone meetings. Most of the ribbons you will receive at this show were won by their beloved Mason’s Master
Copy, the big black Walking Horse also know as Xerox. Trophies are donations from the Berg Estate and other friends of the
Northeast Zone Horse Show Division, who also donated ribbons. Thank you everyone.
CAMPER PARKING permitted south of arena, but no horses allowed on the hill. Electricity is not available.
CHANGES. Management reserves the option to combine, cancel or divide classes as entries warrant; and to substitute
listed officials if in the best interests of the show.
CONDUCT. Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry of an exhibitor or participation of any person
who has shown an objectionable attitude toward a Recognized Show or previous unsportsman like behavior at a Recognized Show
or to its Management.
DOGS NOT are permitted to run loose or be left unattended unless confined inside a vehicle.
ENTRIES must be in writing, signed by owner/authorized agent, and accompanied by proper fees. Parent/Guardian
must sign the entry of a junior exhibitor.

POST ENTRIES
must be made before the preceding class enters the ring. You may enter at the in-gate if you have 1) An Entry Form signed and on file in the office and
2) accompanied an Open Check or you are riding on the $35 All-Day Fee. OPEN CHECKS for post entries accepted as a courtesy. Classes once entered are charged
and not deducted.
CHECKS RETURNED FOR ANY REASON INCUR A $35 SERVICE CHARGE
GATE
HOLDS (3 minutes maximum) are
limited to horses/riders in consecutive classes.
JUNIOR
EXHIBITORS may not show a stallion.
handlers 16 & older may show yearling colts..
LOSS
AND INJURY. The Friends of NEZ, its members, members of the Show Committee, and their Associates will
not be responsible for any loss or damage or injury to horses exhibited, or for any article of any kind that may be lost or
destroyed, or in any way injured. Each exhibitor will be responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person,
whomsoever, by any horses owned or exhibited by him and shall indemnify the Friends of NEZ, its members, members of the Show
Committee, and their Associates against all claims and demands of any kind or nature that may grow out of injury occasioned
by any horses owned or exhibited by him, or arise from the negligence of the person in charge of any such horse. The owner,
rider/handler and any of their agents or representatives acknowledge that they participate voluntarily in the competition
fully aware that horse sports and the competition involve inherent dangerous risk, and by participating they expressly assume
any and all risks of injury or loss, and they agree to hold the competition and its officials, directors, employees and agents
harmless for any injury or loss suffered during or in connection with the com-petition, whether or not such injury or loss
resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligent acts or omissions of said officials, directors, employees or agents.
All horses exhibited will be entirely at the owner’s risk. Submitting entry shall constitute acceptance by the owner
and exhibitor of all provisions as set forth herein. The NEZ Friends, its members, members of the Show Committee, and their
Associates cannot be held liable for loss or injury to the person or property of a visitor, guest, or spectator.
NUMBERS. Exhibitors must be in the ring suitably attired, with
correct number clearly visible.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR. Protective headgear with harness fastened is required 1) for Juniors entered in Hunter Seat Equitation and 2) for Leadline
riders when mounted anywhere on the grounds.
PROTESTS. For proper procedure, consult Show Steward or current WSH Rule Book.
REFUND OF ENTRY FEES (less an office fee of $6 or 10% of the entry fee, whichever is greater) will be made on
receipt of a Veterinarian’s Certificate presented prior to the horse’s first class.
STABLING. There are 15 useable box stalls which survived the fire. They are #21-30
an 31-34 & 36. No center stalls survived. Preference given to out of town
entries.
