TO COMPETE FOR 2008 NORTHEAST
ZONE HORSE SHOW HIGH SCORE AWARDS
1- Membership
requirement. The horse owner or equitation rider must be a Washington State Horsemen Member through any NE Zone Club or
as a Non-Club member. For Knights of Santiago membership use the form below.
Contact Cheryl Moriartiy at tpapps@icehouse.net for Four Seasons membership.
2- Recording
requirement. There is a flat Zone fee of $7 per membership. (Not per member or per horse). This provides funds
for Hoofbeats (the Zone newsletter) and other zone expenses. Membership
and Recording are separate functions.
3- The
horse(s) for whom points are kept must be recorded with the Northeast Zone. The form is available from Connie Hicks locoh@comcast.net or 238-3100. The fee to record a horse is $13. This is a flat fee. Equitation riders/showmanship handlers
must also be recorded to earn points for classes in the Equitation Division. The fee is $5. Dressage exhibitors are recorded
on the basis of a horse & rider combination. The fee is $18.
4- Except
for the $7, recording fees go to the Horse Show fund where the majority is returned to exhibitors as awards. (Except for $3/horse,
$2/Eq. and $5/dressage combination set aside for operating expenses.)
5- This information pertains
to the local Northeast Zone Horse Show High Score Awards program. These are blanket recordings. Competitors earn points in
any of the 129 high score awards classes at NE Zone recognized shows. In 2007 there were 23 shows on 12 weekends from May
through September. The WSH program offers about 85 shows from January through
Sept. Recordings are on a per class basis and are submitted to the WSH Horse Show office in Goldendale. You may sign up for
either or both, but to avoid end-of-the-year disappointments you must be aware of what you are signing up for.
